Cleveland Browns 2023 Draft Grades, Fits, and Scouting Reports
The Athletic's In-Depth Coverage
The Cleveland Browns entered the 2023 NFL Draft with limited draft capital, but still managed to make some shrewd selections to address key needs.
Grades
Analysts have given the Browns a range of grades for their 2023 draft class, from a high of A- to a low of C. USA TODAY's Nate Davis gave the Browns a favorable A- grade, while other outlets were more critical.
Fits
Several of the Browns' 2023 NFL Draft selections should see the field this season. Wide receiver Cedric Tillman, selected with the No. 74 overall pick, could be a valuable addition to the offense. Defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey could also make an immediate impact on the Browns' defense.
Scouting Reports
Cedric Tillman: The Browns traded up to select Tillman, a versatile wide receiver who can play both inside and outside. He brings excellent size (6'3", 215 lbs) and athleticism to the Browns' offense.
Perrion Winfrey: Winfrey is a 315-pound defensive tackle who brings physicality and athleticism to the Browns' front seven. He had 5.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in his final season at Oklahoma.
Overall Assessment
Despite having limited draft capital, the Browns made some solid selections in the 2023 NFL Draft. They addressed key needs, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Time will tell how these players perform in the NFL, but the Browns have the potential to have a solid draft class in 2023.
