Bouchard's Late Goal Lifts Edmonton to Victory
Game 5 Set for Thursday in Vancouver
Evan Bouchard scored the game-winning goal with 381 seconds remaining, lifting the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks in Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Tuesday night.
The Oilers now lead the best-of-seven series 3-1 and can clinch a berth in the Western Conference Finals with a win in Game 5 on Thursday in Vancouver.
The Canucks, who trailed 2-0 after two periods, rallied to tie the game in the third period on goals by Conor Garland and Vasily Podkolzin. However, Bouchard's goal with less than seven minutes remaining proved to be the difference.
Mike Smith made 31 saves for the Oilers, while Thatcher Demko stopped 27 shots for the Canucks.
