Celtics Rout Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 of NBA Finals
Behind Brown's Return, Porzingis' Absence
The Boston Celtics opened the NBA Finals with a dominant 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. Jaylen Brown, who missed Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals with a hamstring injury, returned to the lineup and made an immediate impact.
Brown led the Celtics with 24 points, while Jayson Tatum added 21 points and 12 rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis, who was questionable to play with a knee injury, did not suit up for the Mavericks.
The Celtics took control of the game early, building a 20-point lead in the first half. The Mavericks rallied to cut the deficit to 10 points in the third quarter, but the Celtics pulled away again in the fourth to secure the win.
