X-Rays Negative, Brunson Relieved After Scary Fall
New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson was forced to leave Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night after suffering a left knee contusion. X-rays taken after the game came back negative, and Brunson is considered day-to-day.
Brunson's injury occurred late in the third quarter when he fell awkwardly after being fouled by Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton. Brunson immediately grabbed his knee and limped off the court. He was helped to the locker room and did not return to the game.
After the game, Brunson said he was "all good" and that he expects to be ready for Game 3 on Tuesday night. He said the knee was just "a little sore" and that he would be getting treatment to reduce the swelling.
Brunson's injury is a significant blow to the Knicks, who are already without starting forward Obi Toppin due to a calf injury. Brunson has been one of the Knicks' most consistent players this season, averaging 16.3 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game.
